Design goes beyond choosing colours

A good interface makes the next step easier.

Find the user’s question

Before designing, ask why someone opened this screen. Do they want to choose a course, read an article or apply? A clear task gives meaning to the heading, button and content order. Visual style should support that task.

Make the important part stand out

If every element asks for equal attention, choosing gets harder. Use one main heading and a clear action. Keep related information together and leave space between sections. An image should explain the subject rather than just fill a gap.

Try a small exercise

Choose a screen from an app you use often. Write down what you notice first and what you want to do. Sketch a simpler version on paper. Ask a friend to complete a task and watch where they hesitate. Use that observation to guide your next decision.
